Iron Drift Axis Mug
This hand-built stoneware mug leans heavily into a raw, primeval aesthetic, pairing a highly structured silhouette with unpredictable atmospheric surface effects.
The coarse, unglazed exterior highlights a dynamic interplay of natural earth tones, featuring deep carbon-black flashes and rich iron-brown markings sweeping across a sandy, speckled clay body. Its heavily textured, stone-like surface is anchored by a chiseled T-shaped handle, engineered with clean geometric angles and an integrated thumb rest for an ergonomic hold. Inside, a smooth matte grey-blue glaze provides a functional, easy-to-clean interior that breaks over the rim into a toasted iron edge.
Material: Coarse, iron-bearing stoneware clay
Process: Hand-built
Finish: Raw, atmospheric flashed exterior; smooth matte glazed interior
Intended Use: Coffee or tea
