An ancient dialogue for contemporary spaces
Adi Ben-Hur’s ceramic work explores the unexpected intersection of antiquity, the natural world, and modern life. Growing up in the desert in Israel, surrounded by earth and architecture that shared the same raw, sun-baked palette, deeply informed their relationship to clay. Today, the colors and textures of that desert landscape find new expression in small-batch stoneware handcrafted in New York City.
The work filters the rich, historic forms of the Middle East and the Far East—specifically drawing from the deep ceramic legacies of Iraq, Iran, and Japan—through a contemporary lens. Driven by a reverence for nature and a playful blending of eras, the collection balances organic surfaces with clean design. The result is a series of unique objects crafted to feel like timeless artifacts that belong entirely in the present moment.
